Lost 29 pounds

I started On Ramp at CrossFit Dwala three years ago and have never looked back. I was overweight, out of shape, and unhealthy in my eating habits. My husband had joined a few months before me and went on and on about how awesome it was. Honestly, I only went to the On Ramp class to get him off my back. I hadn’t worked out in months and just knew I wouldn’t like it. I was a Zumba girl. I loved my group exercises and had never lifted weights before – I didn’t even know how. After two weeks of On Ramp, I was hooked. That’s not to say it was easy and I didn’t struggle. I did and still do. The workouts are hard and definitely challenging, but so worth it. And, as it turns out, the workouts at CrossFit Dwala are group exercises and can easily be scaled to my abilities!

I love the comradery and the friendships I have developed at the gym. We all work together to get through the workouts and encourage each other to finish, regardless of your age, weight, or skill level. I have learned so much about nutrition and what my body needs that I never knew before. I have worked with the coaches to develop a nutrition plan and have gained so much knowledge in doing so. At age 43, I am in better shape than I have ever been. I have two kids still in school and it’s not easy to work out around their schedules, but we manage to make it work. It is a family atmosphere and my kids even love to come! I love the example that we as parents are setting for our children – take care of your bodies, inside and out. Exercise is important, as is the nutrition and what we eat. Our whole family loves CrossFit Dwala, the coaches, and the community we have become a part of. It’s a fun place to work out and the benefits have far surpassed all of my expectations! I have been here three years and don’t see any reason to go anywhere else.
